A witness in a money-laundering case against Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik has stated before the Enforcement Directorate that fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim is based in Pakistan's Karachi city, while another witness said he was told that Dawood would send Rs 10 lakh to his siblings every month.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them over different counts.
The judge observed that although they were not part of the inner circle of the conspiracy, their participation in training camps and their consent to go to Pakistan for arms training suggested their active involvement.
Those who were held guilty included Safdar Nagori, Javed Ahmed and Atikur Rehman. Among those acquitted were Mohammad Irfan, Nasir Ahmad and Shakeel Ahmed.
